1. Insomnia of Today

As he looks out the window onto the darkness the gravity of his day sinks in

It’s all he can do to not to just walk out the door now, and never look back

    Fade into the darkness

The only reason he doesn’t is because he isn’t one to give up

The days are hard and he doesn’t open up to anyone due to a fear

    The fear of others

he doesn’t open up due to a vulnerability, his archillies heel

He uses humor as a way to hide deeper feelings

Ones of being scared and alone in the world

    He’s just a sad clown

But no one would laugh at a clown with his make-up running

So he tries to make the most of everyday

He doesn’t know where he is in life and doubts he will

So as he continues his gaze out the window one by one he sees the other lights go out

The others laying their heads down to sleep once again

He sits up his mind too active to sleep, yet he’s too mentally and physically tired to understand it

The dreams of tomorrow postponed by the insomnia of today
